The items I sell are primarily things that have been in my family for years or that I've purchased at local Minnesota farm auctions, area auction houses and estate sales, specifically for on-line selling venues or my shop. They speak to another time, when the pace was slower and life was a whole lot simpler.
My auctions feature vintage items, but most of them are still fully functional in addition to being great conversation pieces! I try my best to find good quality, interesting items to sell and will provide as much detail as I can about the condition and age. If something doesn't work, I'll say so. If I'm suspect that something might be a reproduction, I'll say that as well.
I avoid buying reproductions. There's nothing wrong with them, as long as you know that's what you're getting. I prefer the "authentic item", but if there's a downside to "authentically old items", it's that they will rarely be perfect or "mint". The truly "old" or truly "vintage" rarely is.
If you want brand new items, then my auctions are probably not for you, as I rarely sell items that are not used.
On October 24,2007, I opened my "non-virtual" shop called "Minnesota's Highway 169 Antiques and Collectibles". I started a website for that shop. It's a work in progress, but here it is: http://www.minnesotas-highway.com/
